Goshen

Goshen is a town in Sullivan County, New Hampshire, with a population of 796 as of the 2020 census. First settled in 1768 and incorporated in 1791, it was originally part of Saville, now Sunapee. The town’s name likely came from Goshen, Connecticut, where some early residents had family ties.

Goshen covers about 22.5 square miles and lies primarily within the Connecticut River watershed. The eastern edge of town is defined by the Mount Sunapee ridge, with the highest elevation reaching 2,529 feet above sea level. New Hampshire Routes 10 and 31 pass through Goshen, connecting it to nearby towns including Newport, Keene, and Hillsborough.
